Overview

Elsource Solar Monitoring Solutions give plant owners, EPCs and O&M teams real-time visibility into rooftop and utility-scale PV generation — from string-level performance to portfolio-wide dashboards.

The platform ingests data from inverters, string monitors and Elsource meters, correlates generation with consumption and irradiance, and surfaces performance anomalies that would otherwise erode plant yield month after month.

Whether the plant is a captive rooftop offsetting a manufacturing load, a net-metered commercial installation or a utility-scale asset with PPA obligations, the platform provides the operational visibility and audit trail needed to protect generation revenue.

Capabilities

Built for the way energy teams actually work.

Generation monitoring

Real-time and historical PV generation tracking at plant, inverter and string level where available.

Inverter integration

Support for common inverter brands over Modbus, RS485 and Ethernet.

Generation vs consumption

Correlation of solar generation with facility consumption to compute self-consumption and export.

Performance alerts

Threshold and comparative alerts for underperforming inverters, strings and plants.

Cloud dashboards

Web and mobile access for owners, EPCs and O&M teams.

Net-metering support

Interfaces with bi-directional smart meters for accurate export accounting.

Reference architecture

From the panel to the boardroom.

Every deployment follows the same four-layer reference architecture — proven across sites, scalable across portfolios.

Layer 01

Field acquisition

Inverters, string monitors, weather stations and Elsource meters form the acquisition layer.

Layer 02

Edge gateway

On-site gateway aggregates and buffers data, forwarding securely to the cloud.

Layer 03

Platform

Ingest, historian, analytics and alerting run as managed services in the Elsource cloud.

Layer 04

Consumption

Dashboards, alerts and API access serve owners, EPCs and O&M teams.

Outcomes

What customers actually walk away with.

  • Early detection of underperforming inverters and strings
  • Objective basis for O&M SLA and warranty conversations
  • Clear separation of self-consumed vs exported generation
  • Audit trail for PPA and net-metering settlement

Where it fits

Deployed across the sectors we serve.

Captive rooftop

Manufacturing and commercial sites tracking self-consumption and export against their PPA.

Distributed portfolios

EPCs and O&M partners monitoring dozens of installations from a single console.

Utility-scale plants

String-level performance monitoring and PPA-grade net metering for large plants.

Integrates with

Plays nicely with what you already run.

Elsource platforms are protocol-agnostic and API-first, so existing meters, SCADA and enterprise systems stay in place while data flow gets consolidated.

  • Common inverter brands over Modbus / RS485 / Ethernet
  • Elsource bi-directional three-phase smart meters
  • String monitors and weather stations
  • ERP / BI platforms via REST API

FAQ

Answers to the questions that come up first.

Which inverter brands are supported?

The platform supports common inverter brands over Modbus RTU, RS485 and Ethernet. New brands can be onboarded with a documented register map.

Can it be used with existing meters?

Yes. Any DLMS or Modbus meter with a documented register map can be onboarded alongside Elsource meters.

Is string-level monitoring mandatory?

No. Plant- and inverter-level monitoring provide meaningful visibility on their own; string-level monitoring is recommended where the plant is instrumented for it.
