Overview

The Elsource Three Phase Smart Meter is a high-accuracy, DLMS-compliant static energy meter engineered for industrial, commercial and utility metering points where revenue accuracy, power quality visibility and remote acquisition are non-negotiable. It targets Class 0.5s / Class 1 accuracy per IS 16444, IS 15959 and IEC 62053.

Available in CT-operated and direct-connected variants for 3-phase 4-wire LT and MV service positions, the meter measures active, reactive and apparent energy in both import and export directions. Maximum demand, load survey, tamper events and power-quality snapshots are held in non-volatile memory and made available through DLMS/COSEM over PLC / RF / GPRS / NBIoT communications options and supports data exchange with utility Head-end and MDM platform.

Deployed at incomer bays, HT-LT interfaces, shop-floor buses and data-centre PDU feeds, the meter serves as the source of truth for energy accounting, tariff optimisation and audit — feeding Elsource EMS as well as third-party SCADA, MDM and BMS platforms.

Key capabilities

What sets this smart meter apart on the panel.

Class 0.5s / Class 1 revenue-grade accuracy

Suitable for HT/LT boundary and industrial billing metering points; aligned with IS 14697 / IS 13779 & IEC 62053 22 / IEC 62053 21.

Bi-directional energy

Independent import and export registers for active, reactive and apparent energy — suitable for solar net-metering scenarios.

Maximum demand & load survey

Configurable demand integration period and load profile channels for tariff and demand-side analysis.

Power quality snapshot

Per-phase voltage/current, unbalance, power factor and frequency for shop-floor diagnostics.

DLMS/COSEM & Modbus

Standards-first communication for clean integration with utility head-end and enterprise EMS.

Non-volatile event log

Tamper, power-fail, phase-fail and configuration events with time stamps and sequence numbers.

  • SCADA & DCS via Modbus / DLMS gateways
  • BMS and DCIM platforms

FAQ

Questions engineers actually ask.

What accuracy class is available?

The three-phase meter is available in Class 0.5s and Class 1 variants, aligned with IEC 62053 and IS 16444 requirements.

Does the meter support bi-directional (net) metering?

Yes. Independent import and export registers for active, reactive and apparent energy make it suitable for solar net-metering and PPA scenarios.

Does it support RF/cellular communication?

Select variants support RF/cellular communication for remote acquisition and integration with utility head-end and enterprise EMS platforms.

Is Modbus supported?

Select variants support Modbus RTU on RS485 for direct integration with SCADA, DCS and BMS platforms that do not yet speak DLMS.
