Overview

The Elsource Single Phase Smart Meter is a Class 1.0, DLMS/COSEM-compliant static energy meter engineered for accurate revenue-grade measurement in residential, small commercial and light industrial supply points. It is designed to align with IS 16444 for AC static direct-connected watt-hour smart meters and IS 13779 for accuracy performance.

Built around a low-drift energy metering IC and a hardened front end, the meter delivers stable measurement across the 240 V ±20% Indian LT supply band with a 10–60 A direct-connected current range. An integrated LCD presents multi-parameter data — instantaneous voltage, current, power, energy registers and tamper flags — while DLMS/COSEM communication over PLC / RF / GPRS / NBIoT communications options supports data exchange with utility head-end and MDM platforms.

For utilities and sub-metering operators, the meter contributes to reduced AT&C losses, improved billing accuracy and remote visibility of the last-mile consumer. For consumers and facility managers, it delivers a transparent, auditable record of consumption that can be integrated into Elsource's EMS and tenant billing platforms.

Key capabilities

What sets this smart meter apart on the panel.

Revenue-grade accuracy

Class 1.0 active energy measurement per IS 13779 and IEC 62053-21 across the specified voltage and current range.

DLMS/COSEM data exchange

Standards-compliant OBIS objects and associations for direct integration with head-end and MDM systems.

Load profile & event log

Configurable load survey and non-volatile event logging capture tamper, power fail and configuration changes for audit.

Tamper detection and Anti-tamper compliance

Magnet, NM, ND, reverse-current, cover-open, power outage, relay connect/disconnect and other events, are lagged with time stamps for revenue generation. Meter is complied with required anti-tamper features.

LCD multi-parameter display

Scrollable display for kWh, instantaneous parameters, phase status and event flags.

Non-volatile memory

Retains billing data, load survey and event log through outages without operator intervention.

  • Third-party DLMS head-end and MDM systems
  • SCADA and BMS via RS485 / DLMS gateways

FAQ

Questions engineers actually ask.

Is the meter DLMS/COSEM certified?

The meter is engineered against IS 15959 / IEC 62056 DLMS/COSEM data exchange and exposes standard OBIS codes for integration with utility head-end and MDM systems.

What accuracy class does it belong to?

The meter is Class 1.0 for active energy, aligned with IS 13779 and IEC 62053-21 for AC static watt-hour meters.

Can it be integrated with an existing EMS?

Yes. It exposes DLMS OBIS objects over PLC / RF / GPRS / NBIoT and integrates cleanly with Elsource EMS as well as third-party head-ends, SCADA and BMS via standard gateways.

What tamper events are captured?

Cover-open, magnetic influence, reverse current, neutral missing and configuration change events are captured with time stamps in a non-volatile event log.
